Seminars

Where do you find a short course in warehouse management? Your mail is probably full of printed brochures offering seminars led by instructors with little or no management experience.

These one and two day programs are offered on either a private or semi-private basis to organizations that have at least eight people who wish to attend. They offer these features that are not found in most programs:

  • Every participant receives at least one of our eight educational publications.
  • By limiting the programs to in-house presentations, we create an atmosphere which facilitates discussion and learning. This includes the use of realistic business cases.
  • Each program is designed to provide specific and practical tools for warehouse management.
  • Your seminar leaders are experienced managers who regularly face warehousing challenges. Each has extensive practical warehousing experience in the industry.

Programs

Family Business -- Perpetuating Success This course is designed for those who currently work in a family business, those who plan to hire children or other relatives to work in your business, those who have family businesses as their major customers or suppliers and those who sit on the board of a family business. Delivering Customer Value is designed for customer service representatives and logistics service providers. It is designed to help them appreciate the importance of delivering value to warehousing customers.

While every seminar allows attendees to learn from course leaders, Ackerman Co. programs emphasize the opportunity for managers to learn from each other. The content and format are designed to facilitate exchange of ideas. Management cases are used extensively in order to allow participants to test their own ideas in a group learning situation. Our seminar participants often learn as much from their peers as from the instructors.
